Match.com
A Match.com review must begin by stating that this internet dating portal is most likely the best known relationship site around the world. After a slow start in 1995 Match.com has grown to become the industry leader in a quickly growing market. Last year's numbers are now available and show the site has over 20 million users.
The Dating Pool
The advantage of a large online dating site like Match.com is the numbers. With so many active members your chances increase dramatically for finding that special someone.
A Match.com review reveals that the site has members from over 32 different countries; users speak 20 different languages, and are on every continent. 50 percent of Match.com users earn over $50,000 and 65 percent are over 30 years of age.

Just as in the real world, Match.com attracts more women than men. The site reflects America's population with an average of 3 women to every 2 men. But when it comes to active members who are the singles signing in on a regular basis, the ratio of men to women is equal.
Shoot Me an Email
There are several different ways Match.com users can communicate with each other. The most basic is the "wink". This is equivalent to flirting in the real world and involves sending an emoticon to express interest. Once you have made a connection you can communicate via IM or email.
Feature That
A Match.com review will inform potential members of the sites many features. The site is not only a pioneer in the industry; it continues to break new ground every year by introducing innovative and unique features for members.
The Match.com Messenger allows instant contact between members. Using this feature allows them communicate with each other while they are on the site. Other communication methods include MatchMobile which can be used by members when they are away from their computers. MatchMobile sends and receives information right from a cell phone.
Love to travel? Match.com is virtually the only site to offer its own travel agency. The agency plans singles cruises and other exciting getaways for adventure lovers.

A newer feature is the communication tracker. My Connections Photo Gallery allows users to easily keep up with their matches and their favorites. It has different settings and will let you know when it is your turn to make the next move and when it is time to take it offline and make a date.
Getting Started
The Match.com interface makes it very user friendly. Setting up a profile requires users to complete 7 simple steps. Each of the 7 areas includes boxes to check for such information as hobbies, career, and interesting facts. Some steps ask for brief comments and the last step is a written composition that describes what you are looking for in a potential mate or in a relationship.
The site will do a keyword search based on your answers to the questions asked in each step and from your essay. Check your keyword list to make sure the keywords are reflective of you - computers have been known to make mistakes.
New members will also be required to decide if they would like to purchase a paid membership. The site offers free memberships which are a great way to learn about the site but in order to communicate with others a paid membership is required. At less than $1.00 per day a Match.com membership is cheaper than going to local bar every evening.
It's easy to navigate and has thousands of possibilities. A Match.com review suggests this amazing site is as close to actually hiring a matchmaker as it gets.
